Buttons & Things Co began with a lifelong love of beautiful buttons. I’ve always believed that the smallest details can completely transform a garment, and the right button can bring a piece of knitting or dressmaking to life.
My background in haberdashery goes back many years when I worked alongside my mum in our family shop. That experience taught me how important quality and choice are for makers. Over time my own passion for sourcing unusual and beautiful buttons grew, and eventually I created Buttons & Things Co.
Today I run the business from Carbis Bay in Cornwall, carefully selecting buttons and buckles from suppliers around the world. What started as a small online shop has grown into a place where knitters, dressmakers, designers and costume makers can find distinctive buttons for their projects.
At Buttons & Things Co I focus on offering a wide and ever-changing collection of beautiful buttons and haberdashery. The range includes classic tailoring buttons, natural materials such as shell, horn and wood, decorative designs, and contemporary styles for modern garments.
Many customers come to the shop looking for buttons for knitting and dressmaking, whether that’s the finishing touch for a cardigan, a set for a coat, or something special for a handmade jacket. I also source unusual and vintage buttons whenever I find them, as well as buckles and other interesting fastenings.
Everything in the shop is chosen personally by me. I’m always looking for designs that feel special and are lovely to work with.
One of the things I enjoy most is helping customers find the right buttons for their projects. Over the years I’ve built up a lot of knowledge about button sizes, materials and which styles work best with different garments.

Every order is packed here in Cornwall and sent out promptly, with one flat postage rate, so many customers choose several favourites at once while planning their projects.
